Instant Bacteria Testing

Instant Bacteria Testing

 ATP/AMP Testing:

What is ATP Testing?

All cells contain ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) which when combined with the firefly substrate enzyme system (Luciferin-Luciferase) generates light in direct proportion to the amount of cells present. This allows for rapid detection of microbial contamination in water, products or surfaces. ATP systems can be used for rapid monitoring of microbial contamination in water, cosmetics, fruit juices, foodstuffs, saunas and swimming pools, food surfaces, restaurants, kitchens, hospitals, nursing homes and hotels.

In order to help customers to improve monitoring and microbial control AquaChem have launched the new Lumitester 20 system which measures bacteria levels in 10 seconds. No more long drawn out swabbing or waiting 2 to 3 days for Plate Count or Dipslide Results. No more problems trying to work out if the count is 10,000 or 100,000 colony forming units (cfu’s).

The Lumitester PD20 system also offers many advantages when compared to other ATP systems on the market such as:

  • Patented procedure to measure both ATP and AMP. AMP or adenosine monophosphate is produced from ATP in bacteria in their resting stage. In heat treated foodstuffs the heating of ATP and the impact of enzymes breaks it down to AMP which cannot be detected by ATP alone.  This means that the Lumitester PD20 gives a truer reflection of the levels of potential microbial contamination of liquids and surfaces.
  •  It produces results in just 10 seconds.
  • The LuciPac sample Pens which are used to collect samples of microbial organisms can be used for measuring levels in both liquids and on surfaces.
  •  The system is self calibrating.
  • It has an in-built facility for data transfer via a USB port on a PC.
  • It can be set up to provide trend graphs of results.
  • It can store up to 2000 results.
  • It comes with a two year guarantee.
  • It is very competitively priced.
